HENDERSON (July 19, 2023) – The Dollar Loan Center announced today that the organization has teamed up with the City of Henderson, the Henderson Police Department, HopeLink of Southern Nevada and The Dollar Loan Center to host a school supply distribution event for the Henderson community on Thursday, July 27. Students in need will have the opportunity to pick up supplies for the upcoming school year, learn about resources available to them, and enjoy interactive games and activities for the whole family. Henderson Silver Knights and Vegas Knight Hawks Cast members, Star Wars characters, and Critical Care Comics Superheroes will be in attendance.
Students at the event can receive a free haircut from 101 Barbershop, and a free eye exam from Drs. Kopolow & Girisgen Eye Doctor. Shrunk 3D and Cowabunga Bay will provide giveaways throughout the event. Levy Cares will have water and lite snacks for attendees.
Thank you to our community partners who have donated supplies including: The Harbor, Bamboo, GGRM Law Firm, Boundless Chiropractic, Spread the Word NV, Naphcare, COH AmeriCorps, Henderson Police Department Community Engagement, 101 Barbershop, Fashion Show Las Vegas, JoyBees, The Crossing, and HCC Community Cares.

SUPPLIES NEEDED INCLUDE: Dry erase markers, sticky notes, colored card stock, colored paper, sharpies, pens, pencils, binder clips, markers, crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks, glue, rulers, sanitizer wipes, scissors, poster board, magnets, clipboards, Ziplock bags, Kleenex, paper towels, backpacks, lunch boxes and bags, folders, notebooks, erasers, pencil boxes, manual pencil sharpeners, index cards, highlighters, rulers, pens, loose leaf paper, three-ring binders, binder dividers, weekly planners, protractors, sharpies, and combination locks.
Organizations and individuals who would like to make a cash donation may do so by clicking here. Additionally, check donations can be sent to 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson, NV, and can be made payable to the Henderson Silver Knights Foundation. All cash donations will be put toward purchasing supplies for local students in need.
